INTERVJU SA EMILY


Današnji intervju je sa Emily Chatzikonstantinou poznatija u našem klubu kao "grkinja" 

Emily se od prvog dana uklopila kod nas u klubu, i bila je tu za sve. Nije propuštala treninge davajući svoj maksimum! Potrudila se čak i da nauči srpski jezik, pa kada smo se odlučili da je intervjuišemo pitali smo je da li hoće pitanja na engleskom ili na srpskom jeziku, i naravno rekla je na srpskom a za odgovore da će razmisliti. 😃


CFNS: Koliko imaš godina i čime se baviš? Kada si došla u Novi Sad?


Emily: I’m 27, I am a doctor and studying medicine was the reason I came to Novi Sad 9 years ago.


CFNS: Kako si saznala za CrossFit NS?


Emily: From my friends and current roommates. Bilja was the first to join and then Ljusa followed. They wouldn’t stop talking about it after every training so I joined just to make them stop (and I regret nothing!)


CFNS: Koliko dugo treniraš CF? Da li si se i ranije bavila fizičkom aktivnošću?


E: I joined in August ’18, so that would be almost 2 and a half years now and I really wish it was sooner. In high school I used to play handball but when I first came to Novi Sad I wasn’t very active. Later I started running and I was really into it which is funny considering how much I hate it now when its programmed into the WODs… 😄


CFNS: Kako je izgledao tvoj prvi trening, ako se sećaš? 😅 I da li pamtiš neki određeni trening iz sale i zašto baš taj?


E: Of course I remember the first training! It was teams of 2 and I was paired with a friend who was also trying it out for the first time. There were box jumps and abmat situps included and we were training under  the pull-up bars by the door. I remember it was so hot cause it was mid-August and I was struggling to breathe (which to be honest, is still the case for me in every WOD…) and I also remember Bilja and Ljusa being across from me and we were trying to compete with each other even from day 1!

So besides the first training, probably another one that comes to mind immediately is  “Mike 30” which was my 3rd or 4th training… It was really intense and we didn’t even make it during the time cap but I loved it. It was a typical CF WOD. Too bad it wasn’t repeated this year.


CFNS: Omiljena vežba?


E: Anything with a barbell and especially cleans and deadlifts!


CFNS: Vežba koju najmanje voliš? :)


E: I would say Assault bike but thankfully it's not scheduled in the WODs... 😄 So probably burpee box jumps. I don’t mind them separately but I hate them when they are combined.


CFNS: Šta si još zavolela kod nas u sali sem dobrih treninga? I zašto baš CrossFit način treniranja, pored drugih vrsta fizičke aktivnosti?


E: I love the atmosphere. I made a lot of friends and it feels like family so I think that’s a good enough reason to love it! And that’s probably why I prefer it to other types of training. Even when it’s not a team training, you're still not doing it alone, there’s a sense of community. I experienced that to the maximum on last year's Crossout. The atmosphere was crazy and everyone was cheering for everyone!

Plus every exercise has its modifications which makes it possible for everyone to try and do it, even if they’ve never trained before in their life. And having people around you doing the same thing as you do and struggle as much as you do in every WOD, but still doing it till the end, can motivate you to keep going until the workout is over.



CFNS: Čuli smo da nas napuštaš, da se seliš… 💔 Gde ideš sada? Da li ćeš nastaviti da treniraš CrossFit?


E: Unfortunately the time has come. 😢 I prolonged my stay in Serbia for as long as I could, which is much longer than I had expected and had hoped for. I am planning on moving to Germany, because it’s easier for me as doctor to find a job there. I will miss the CFNS family and I doubt any other CF box will feel the same. But obviously the city I will move to will have to have a CF box! (I am already doing my research on that 😄) And of course I will still be visiting CFNS whenever I have the chance! It will always feel like home.


CFNS: Da li imaš neku preporuku za nove članove koji dolaze na trening? 


E: I would say “don’t give up, it gets easier” but we all know that’s a lie and no matter how long you’ve been training for it doesn’t get easier. But definitely don’t give up because the results will be worth it! To be honest, I never thought much of Crossfit before I joined and I was skeptical about doing it at first, but now I really wish I had done it sooner! Every other type of training seems really dull compared to it now.
